Welcome to Drop Shed Gorgeous, where every dog is treated like family. I'm Raelyn Sawtelle, the owner and lead groomer here. I've lived in our small valley for 18 years, and I've spent the last three years professionally grooming dogs with skill, patience, and genuine love.
As a graduate of the American Grooming Academy, I hold certified expertise in working with difficult or sensitive dogs. I make sure that every pup—from the wiggly to the worried—receives gentle, compassionate care. My passion for dogs shines through in every bath, trim, and tidy-up I perform.

Got questions about grooming? Here are quick answers to the most common things pet parents ask me.
Should I bathe my dog before bringing them for a haircut?
Please do not bathe your dog before an appointment, I do need to bathe them myself regardless of if you did or not for hygienic purposes. If the dog has knots and matting then you can attempt to brush it out, but please do not bathe if they are matted—it tightens the knots, making it harder to get out.
When should I start grooming my puppy?
As soon as you can! You can usually start bringing a puppy to a groomer once they get their second shots. A lot of times the first few grooms will be more of a "Training" or "Acclimating" session, but you want to get the dog used to grooming as young as possible to ensure it won't be stressful.
You can start bathing and brushing your puppy at home pretty much immediately as well, and getting them used to things like the sound of the nail clippers by snapping a wooden toothpick while giving a treat, or the feeling of vibrating clippers by using an electric toothbrush against their skin.
How long will it take?
This depends on the dog's size, coat, and behavior, but most dogs take between an hour and two hours. However, it can vary from being half an hour or less depending on the service, to a full day for complex breeds.
What vaccination requirements do you have?
I do not require proof of vaccination but do recommend basic vaccinations such as rabies and parvo for safety reasons. I sanitize my shop in between every dog as well to prevent the spread of disease.
What happens if I need to cancel?
I do charge a $10 no-show or late cancellation fee for all cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment.
What if I struggle getting my dog in the car and show up late?
I will do my best to still get your dog in, but I can't guarantee that I will still be able to depending on how late you show up. I have a ten-minute grace period; after that, I call or text the number on file. After about five more minutes, you are issued a final warning. If there is no contact, or if you explain that you can't make it within the next five minutes, I will unfortunately have to cancel your appointment and offer you the option of rescheduling for a different day.
